Summerhill do part of the Circuit of Bath Walk in aid of Julian House

14 girls, Dave, Jessica and I did part of the Circuit of Bath Walk today.  It was a beautiful day - perfect temperatures and conditions.

Because so many of the Summerhill girls had volunteered to do the walk in aid of Julian House, we walked from Kingswood to Bathampton while the other half of the group from the other houses walked the opposite way.

I'm a very proud Housemistress because so many of us took part.  They were:  Bipina, Rachana, Chloe, Emma, Lottie, India, Sarah, Selene, Bella, Rigam, Lara, Manaho, Simran and Emily.

It's an amazing walk and one I will definitely do again.  We finished at the check point at the Bathampton Mill and then took the mini bus home.  It only took a couple of hours and was a really lovely way to spend an afternoon.

A massive, heart felt "thank you" to all of you who took part.

Dinner in House - Saturday 27th Sept.

Tonight we had dinner in House.  Dave cooked two pasta dishes.  Chicken & bacon with creamy / cheese sauce pasta bake and a chicken and pesto pasta bake.  Both were excellent.  Massive thank you to Dave.

Thanks to Lara, Lottie and Emma for all their chopping and slicing.

Christy's birthday

Today was Christy's 16th birthday.  She celebrated with a trip to London over the weekend with her friends.  We sang happy birthday to her during registration and tonight in the House.  Chocolate cake was the theme of the night.

Sarah's birthday

Monday 8th September was Sarah's birthday.  We were fortunate as her Nana provided a lovely chocolate cake to go along side the one I provided from the House.

House music - Sunday 7th September

Sunday saw the annual House Music competition.  The girls worked with Middle House to create two pieces.  An 'ensemble' and a house 'song and dance'.  Rehearsals started at 9:45am with sessions running in the Theatre, the Chapel and the Creed Room.  The competition started at 6:30pm the same day.

The Summerhill and Middle ensemble was genius. The boys backing vocals and routine was brilliant.  I suspect we did not win as it was too advanced for the judge to handle.  Basically, blew his mind!

The dance and song routine was well executed - although the song choice was difficult to learn.  This meant that although the dance routine was tight, there were periods during the song where few people knew the lyrics.

Hall and School won both sessions.  Very well done to them.

Overall, an excellent time was had by all.  I really enjoyed watching all the performances.  Some of the ideas were very funny and made it very entertaining to watch.  A big thank you must go to all the new PR and year 13s who helped to organise the day and make it such a success.
