Saturday Supper in House

Once again, Dave cooked for us and we ate supper in house.  Many thanks to Bipina, Rachana, Prapti and Angela for helping prepare the food.

We had lasagna, pasta with chicken, cream & mushrooms and Pasta with chicken and pesto.  Lots of us had all three :)

Jessica had made a Victoria sponge with our Spanish Exchange student, Lulu, which we had for pudding.

Martha's birthday

Today is Martha's 14th birthday but as she had arranged to be with her mum overnight we celebrated her birthday last night.  We had cake and sang Happy Birthday to her.

Look at my Secret Santa present!

I found out on the girls return after Christmas that Charli had been my Secret Santa this year.  She had bought me an Amaryllis bulb, something I have seen regularly but never actually bought.  So I was really pleased to get my bulb.  I faithfully watered it and have been amazed at how fast it has grown.  This week it has come into flower so I have brought it through to the office to share with everyone.  It's absolutely stunning.  From nothing to this in 6 / 7 weeks. Love it!  I'm a convert.

A quiet Sunday baking

Emily and Lottie were in the mood to bake so had a look through the cupboards to see what they could find.  Fortunately for all of us, there were the perfect ingredients for cookies.  They made one batch and were so pleased with them, they made more.

I also had my bread machine chugging away and made a couple of loaves for the girls as warm, fresh bread is so utterly amazing.

Saturday board games in Summerhill

This Saturday, the Year 10 GCSE drama group were performing a Murder Mystery to raise funds for the Prep School.  My daughter was performing so I was lucky enough that Mrs Dudley-Warde (our Marketing Manager) said she would come and cover my duty so I could watch her.  Mrs Dudley-Warde has lots of contact with the overseas students and their families so thought it would be a really good opportunity to catch up with them all informally.

The girls in Summerhill had an excellent time playing board games. We had some visitors from other houses who joined us too.  We started off organising all the snacks that Mrs Dudley-Warde had brought.  They got together at 7pm and talked through the first of the games - Scattergories.  I have it on good authority that Medha won.  Everyone really really enjoyed this game - it made everyone laugh.

Then - Bananagrams.  Rachana won this, four times.  Lottie and Lizzie also won it once.  Lizzie was very excited about this.

A few people at the end played Consequences as others drifted off to chat.

A massive thank you to Mrs Dudley-Warde for her efforts.  The boys said they would definitely come back if it were offered again.  Lottie said she was 'wonderful'.

The snacks all lined up at the start of the evening
