Year 12s start the year with a Ceilidh

Thursday 3rd September saw the start of the new academic year.  To help the students who are new to the school to settle in, and to give the Year 12s a good start to their time in the sixth form - we put on a Ceilidh.

The band were expertly led by Mr Burgon on the accordion and joined by Mr Chua on the bass and Miss Wormold on the violin.  I played my part by doing the calling.  The Year 12s were really good and didn't take themselves too seriously so got a lot out of the dancing.  The PR (prefect body) helped to make everyone feel relaxed and joined in.

Afterwards, the students retired to the Dixon lawn to have a BBQ while parents had the opportunity to talk to tutors of their children.
