Saturday supper in house

Tonight we made dinner in House.  Dave cooked chicken, bacon and leek pie and steak and kidney pie.  We had home grown (by my own fair hands) cabbage and leeks.  There was also half a baked potato each.

We sat outside as it was a lovely evening.  The girls stayed outside enjoying the temperature and each others company.  They had good clean fun, playing ball and listening to Disney music.

Garden gets a refurb.

With the weather starting be be good again, I decided that the garden needed sprucing up to encourage the girls to use it more.   With help from Scott and the gardening team, new raised beds were put in place.  Today, I raided my garden for spare plants and managed to find courgettes (especially for Edith), lupins and chives (and other bits and pieces).  

The girls would also like to have swing ball, a netball net and maybe table tennis so I will see what I can do to sort this.

Lets hope the weather remains as good as it is today!

Great excitment - new drying rack

We know how to live in Summerhill.  Today we took delivery of a new drying rack.  The girls were particulalry pleased with the colour.

Snacks in House

A normal evening in house after prep.  Everyone in the kitchen reviewing the day and sharing snacks.  Tonight we had nachos, salad veg, cheese and home made humus.  The coriander humus was a particular hit - thank you Dave!

This Saturday, Dave cooked supper for us.  Mid-week we had a vote for what we wanted to have.  Chicken Caesar salad won.

Numa's 14th birthday

Tonight, we celebrated Numa's 14th Birthday.  It was actually on Saturday but she was at home for the weekend.  We had to wait until Numa had finished badminton activity but we sang to her and ate cake. 
Big 'thank you' to Jessica for making the chocolate cake.  I made the small yellow, lemon buns.
