We celebrated Lizzie's 16th birthday last night. Her birthday was actually on Monday night but Lizzie was out at Hockey activity, not returning to the House until after 9.30pm. So we had cake and sang last night. Photo's below:

Christy's 18th birthday
Last Thursday was Christy's birthday. She had been out all weekend with her parents who had come over the UK to help her celebrate. So tonight was the first time we had had a chance to help her celebrate.
As tradition goes, we sang Happy Birthday and ate cake.

House Hockey matches
This Saturday the girls played hockey matches against the other girls houses. First up was School v Fonthill. It was a 0-0 draw but very evenly matched. Next was Summerhill v School. This time, although the score was 0-0 Summerhill had so many changes it was hard to believe they didn't score. All due respect though to School House defense. Last game, Summerhill v Fonthill. We went 1-0 up but unfortunately it finished 1-3.
So, Fonthill were the winners with Summerhill second and School last. It was a really good event though and thoroughly enjoyed by all those who took part or watched.

Sweetcorn!
The girls were particularly pleased to be served sweetcorn as their snack last night. If I'd realised how popular it would be - I'd have been serving it years ago!

Year 9s and 12s go camping
This weekend, the Year 9 and 12 boarders when camping to West Wales. They left early afternoon on Saturday and returned on Sunday.
The groups shared the same camp site although they used different ends of the field.
The Year 12s did rafting while the Year 9s did rock climbing.
There was a final walk to Symonds Yat. The weather remained kind so everyone had a good time.

House music
Today was the annual House Music competition.
The Year 9s, boarders and Year 13s joined together and put together music and dance to 'You're the one that I want' from Greece. For this to happen took a lot of organisation from this years Year 13s. The houses rotated venues practicing in the Theatre, Creed Room and Chapel.
Unfortunately this year we did not win. A special thank you must go to Precious who was brave enough to play the piano in a solo piece for the ensemble piece - but because it wasn't an ensemble we didn't win.
Congratulations to Fonthill and Hall who won the Main dance, and School and Upper who won the ensenble.
A good time was had by all.

Year 12 Ceilidh
On Wednesday they year 12 were treated to ceilidh dancing in the Sports Hall followed by a BBQ. Parents were invited to meet their children's tutors while the dancing was happening. It was good fun with all the Year 12s joining in - although they still need to learn the words to Auld Lang Syne!
